I can’t look at you without crying I can’t look at you anymore I can’t look at you without smiling, oh And I can’t look at you I can’t look at you in the morning I can’t look at you anymore I can’t look at you across the water, oh And I can’t look at you… Cause I don’t have a clue where I’m hiding And I don’t have a clue anymore And I don’t want to hear your good-bye-ing, oh Cause then I can’t look at you Ooh… Ooh… Ooh… Ooh… I can’t look at you without crying I can’t look at you anymore I can’t look at you without smiling, oh And I can’t look at you I can’t look at you, whoa And I can’t look at you anymore.

These days, you need someone to take care of ya Just let go of your pride Absence makes the heart grow blinder Please be kinder, I don’t wanna be Out of Sight, Out of Mind You fail, you fall, but I won’t let you break One day you’ll realize I’m the one who gave what you needed I refuse to let you stay… Out of Sight, Out of Mind When you need me I will be there I will hold you you know I’m the one who will dare Be your cover, be your other And I swear you’ll never be Out of sight, Out of Mind One day, you’ll find I’m not the one who failed ya It comes as no surprise I am standing right here waiting Eyes wide open now you’ll never be Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Someday Soon 03:44
Someday soon I will rearrange my notes and organize Someday soon I will juxtapose the truth into my rhymes Someday soon, someday soon Someday soon I will be myself, stop wearing my disguise Someday soon I will learn to leave my troubles at the door Someday soon I will pick my broken heart up off the floor Someday soon, someday soon Someday soon I will keep myself from always wanting more Looking away, over my shoulder Back to yesterday Retrace the path, mull it over What was then someday, has passed away Someday soon I will start to read my books between the lines Someday soon I will finally rediscover the divine Someday soon, someday soon Someday soon I will learn to turn the water into wine Looking away, over my shoulder Back to yesterday Retrace the path, mull it over. What was then someday, has passed away-ay-ay… Someday soon I will sail the seven seas to every shore Someday soon I will find the guts to show up at your door Someday soon, someday soon Someday soon I’ll admit that you’re the one that I adore. Someday soon, someday soon Someday soon I will build that little cabin in the woods Someday soon Oh, I know you think you knew I thought I should Someday soon, Oh, A visit to the woods would do me good

Another weekend is gone, slipping by, ticking time, ever slowly They’ll try again in a while, but for now, nothing gained, losing something They tell themselves it’s hard to score The courage to get out that door But this time will be different, I can feel it... You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, if nobody else will You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, then somebody else will He’s got to make it this time, she’s out there, she’s the one, and he knows it She’s building up her resolve, there’s a boy, that she knows, she tries to control it Orbits without gravity There’s so much more out there to see They know it’s true, but they just can’t seem to believe it... It’s time to stop this sight unseen You’re going out for Halloween It’s time to get out and show the whole world that you’re ready You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, if nobody else will You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, then somebody else will Sometimes he feels so strong (it’s already slipping away) Sometimes she feels so beautiful Turn around, feeling’s gone, oh god the nights are so long... You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, if nobody else will You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, then somebody else will You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, then everyone else will You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, then everyone else will You’ve got to believe in yourself, You’ve got to believe in yourself, then everyone else will

Mmm. Oh yeah. Uh. When it began was just the other day Then it became all night We were just people in the right place at the wrong time When it began was just alright. Mmm. Oh yeah. Uh. When it began was just the other night Everything’s good it just felt right It was like watching all the words just Find their rhythm and rhyme, When it began was just alright Before it began You were so far away I never knew you were so right We never said goodnight When it began was just alright… Mmm. Oh yeah. Uh. When it began was just before the end And we have tried with all our might But things just never seem to stay the way they started But when it began was just alright Before it began You were so far away I always thought you were so right And now we’ve said goodnight But When it began was just alright… Mmm. Oh yeah. Uh.

Bluefin Bay 04:02
Sailing on Bluefin Bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay All my troubles melt around me I can feel them drift away And they ne’er again shall find me As I’m sailing on the bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay The Sun is on the water Tears are in my eyes Through the wind and waves I wander Feel my soul is on the rise Sailing on Bluefin Bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay The depths below are calling But there’s another way I’ve found It’s the sails keep me from falling When I’m back standing on the ground Sailing on Bluefin Bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay Sailing on Bluefin Bay

You’re watching. You’re waiting. You’ve got to spring this trap and soon You’re hungry, you’re needing Some fool to stumble into you They know you, you’re hiding, No one has ever seen your face They don’t dare come knocking They fear your deadly cold embrace You want them, you need them, you’ve got to try… You’re getting older Whoa-oh, there she go es Oh no, you’re getting bolder Whoa-oh, there she goes again Oh oh, you’re getting colder Whoa-oh, there she goes Oh no, you’re getting… getting… You’re getting older, you’re getting bolder You’re getting colder, I’m getting over you You feel it, there’s something You know you’ve got to see this through You’re moving, you’re stalking He’s walking right straight into you Now finally, you have him But something steals away your eyes There’s something you’re missing You’re going to Feel the Sting this time Can’t fight it, you tried it, and now you fly… You’re getting older Whoa-oh, there she go es Oh no, you’re getting bolder Whoa-oh, there she goes again Oh oh, you’re getting colder Whoa-oh, there she goes Oh no, you’re getting… getting… You’re getting older, you’re getting bolder You’re getting colder, I’m getting over you You’re getting older, you’re getting bolder You’re getting colder, I’m getting over you

Flipped 03:02
What a trip the world has flipped And now we're upside down That hole I dug to China Twisted backwards underground Good thing for fate to stop the spade That could have put me down For hidden in the dirty dark, A shocking line was found For all I know I hit that thing And now I'm far beyond You're all imagination In a world that's been and gone The pen I grasp is flashing neurons Prompted by the jolt A lifetime's worth of memories Stored in a… a lightning bolt So now you know your origins So question now what's real For your soul is my creation In my mind your fate is sealed Never underestimate the shocked mind of the fool Can't you feel your short-lived life Tick away slowly by the joule?

We are gathering for Winter, As the Sun turns down its flame. We're preparing for the long cold lonely days, We have reaped the fruits of summer And the Autumn's final days Have drifted by now only memories remain. We have prepared a little nest for us to cozy in, Four sturdy walls with insulation from the storm, A simple world with simple gifts No pain no strife, no broken rifts It's beautiful and wonderful And it’s rarer than a unicorn… We are gathering together Some out of fear some out of strain. There are times when friend must gather, come what may. As the world keeps growing colder We must protect what still remains Of what is real and good and beautiful and strange. But who knows what the future brings We may get bit and feel the sting Forsaken by the powers that will be It's hard to muster hope at times, To find the words and make the rhymes When nothing's making sense and There's nothing left to read between the lines… We are gathering for Winter, As the Sun turns down its flame. We're preparing for the long cold lonely days, As the world keeps growing colder We must protect what still remains Of what is real and good and beautiful and strange. Mmm…. Ahh.

Startup Man 03:12
Startup man (Sending out the air) He does all that can There is no other man Can do it like you do Why won’t he talk to me? (Cuz He’s the Startup Man) Why won’t he talk to me? It’s like he doesn’t see Or sees right through me He’s following her (sending out the air) He knows his way around He’s falling to the ground She’s got a lover The hour’s calling you (The hour’s calling you) The days just disappear It’s getting Late to tell (It’s getting late to tell) She’s slipping away Startup man (Sending out the air) He does all that can There is no other man Can do it like you do Can do it like you do Do it like you do Do it like you do Do it like you do

I want to see, I want to try I want to be something you need Something you feel, something you like Something real that you can believe I can’t keep it pent up inside I just needed to say… I just wanna Wake Up with You Wake up with you It’s so surreal, something inside Telling you that this can’t be real Sometimes you feel this isn’t right Something’s there you cannot reveal Then you say you can’t tell a lie Tell me what’s on your mind… I just wanna Wake Up with you Wake up with you I want to see, you want to try Let’s be something we really need Something we feel, something we like Something real that we can believe There’s no need to keep it inside What else is there to say? I just wanna Wake Up with you Wake up with you

Little Big Things In the quiet times In the alone times The little things get washed away in the flood of the everyday Become as big as they should be when nothing else is in the way Little Big Things In the quiet times In the alone times We are here together We are here alone We have only to look around To see how we have grown Little Big Things In the quiet times In the alone times I remember You lived what I became Don’t sweat the small stuff But learn to play the game I remember I remember Our time is through But your love shines through Little Big Things In the quiet times In the alone times Taking things for granted Is not what’s good and true I’m gathering my rosebuds now And sending them all to you Little Big Things In the quiet times In the alone times Little Big Things

about

“As the world keeps growing colder, we must protect what still remains of what is real, and good, and beautiful, and strange” – from “Gathering for Winter.”

After 20 years, Jeff Engholm has produced a new solo album. Little Big Things will be released on June 18th, 2021. Jeff lays down a catchy, clever vibe with lyrical melodies and “non-Nashville” chord changes. From finger-picked folk, to jangly pop, to epic rock, “eclectic” only begins to describe the variety of styles. The album features some amazing guest artists, but Jeff performs most of the instrumentation and vocals himself. Lyrically, the songs explore the pitfalls of entrepreneurialism, life lessons learned from his recently passed mother, and “Flipped” topics like digging a hole to China. This is an album about riding life on worn tires.
